During the entire month of July 2008, children are invited to bring their gently worn dolls, stuffed animals and security blankets to any Ace Tailors location to be repaired for a $10 suggested donation.
The Austin Children's Shelter has provided emergency shelter, high quality care and hope for the future to the abandoned, abused and neglected children of our community since 1984. The Shelter provides a variety of critical services and programs to children from birth to 17 years old to lay a foundation of hope for each child. On February 28, 2008, the Austin Children's Shelter broke ground on a new campus to build five cottages and three support buildings. This new facility, scheduled to open early in 2009, will ultimately allow us to care for nearly 600 children a year - nearly double of the current capacity -- and expand our services.
